1. Trying to look perfect all the time
You know these women that look super pampered all day long? Well this is not and will never be me. While esthetics are important to me, it has to go fast*. Now that my hair is shorter, it takes me 10 minutes to get ready and even though I don’t look perfect (and don’t spend 2 hours in the bathroom), I’d rather enjoy the rest of my time feeling like myself.
2. Procrastinate less (on internet)
Oh boy, that’s going to be a tough one! Since I spend a LOT of time using internet for my blog and atelier Boemia, I easily loose track of what I was looking for flipping from one site to another. I’ve started doing a TO DO LIST every morning to make sure my time is wisely used.
3. Doing things I don’t want to do or see “energy vampires”
I sort of attract people with negative energy because I’m a positive spirit. Life has thought me that if you see your glass half full, you are getting rewarded. Now that I’m in my mid-thirties (turning 35 next week actually), I will say “sorry but no” more often and dedicate my time to true friends with positive spirits that actually give you back something and not only sucking energy out.
4. Trying to make everyone happy all of the time
(goes with paragraph above) I tend to stretch and be ultra-flexible to please everyone most of the time which is pretty exhausting. This year, I’ll focus on things I believe are important and make sure they also make ME happy.
5. Being scared about having no money on savings account (and thinking I will end up living under a bridge)
Anxiety moments related to money (or the lack of it) is something happening pretty often. When I feel anxious about it, I try to focus on how I am proud of all the things I’ve done and that I’ve always managed to land on my feet (also I always carry Bach Rescue Drops in my purse just in case!)
* my 3 rules: I only go out with clean hair, done nails and polished shoes!
