You know that thing, whenever you buy a new gadget you have to use it immediately? Well, it was like that for me when I bought these cute mini kouglof forms… The traditional Alsatian kouglof is sweet but I wanted to make a salty version of it to make fun appetizers…
you will need (for approx. 12 mini kouglofs)
200 gr self-raising flour
1 bunch of fresh basile
150 gr ham
10-12 dried tomatoes
4 tbsp olive oil from the dried tomatoes jar
1dl white wine
salt and pepper to taste
Pre-heat the oven at 170c.
Start by mixing the eggs with salt, pepper until the volume doubles. Add the oil and the white wine, continue mixing. Then gently pour in the flour (little by little), stir well. Add the rest of the ingredients and pour into the molds.
Bake for about 30-40 minutes. Set aside to cool. I served them with some cream cheese and prosciutto di Parma on top, served with a glass of Prosecco… perfect!
