deux jours à Menton

I joined my friend E. in Menton the last week of July. I had never been there before and since it only takes 4 hours by train from Milan (my journey took 9 hours but that’s another story…), I immediately said yes when she asked me if I wanted to come.

Menton is quite small actually so you can almost visit everything by walking. The rue Saint-Michel is filled with shops, restaurants and cafés where we had breakfast and diner (freshly made sandwiches and beer were the perfect for lunch on the beach) and you’ll find the true spirit of the Côte d’Azur

Here’s what you shouldn’t miss while you are in Menton:

Jean Cocteau Museum

A walk through the old cemetery for a breathtaking view over the city

Have diner at the restaurant “Balico” on place Herbe and listen to street musicians

Drink a real locally made lemonade “la Mentonaise”

Go to the Lemon festival
